Appellate Counsel
The policies and practices set forth in this document describe the AIG Domestic Claims, Inc. Litigation Management Guidelines for Appellate Counsel. The document is to be used by all counsel retained by AIG Domestic Claims, Inc., for appellate representation. They are the foundation of a successful relationship between retained appellate counsel, our insureds and the AIG member companies.1
This document is not intended to interfere with counsel's obligation to exercise independent legal judgment in representing the insured. Rather, these guidelines encourage a cooperative, results-oriented approach to litigation management.
These guidelines apply to all Appellate legal services provided on or after September 1, 2006.
