Superior Risk Management (8020)

Rates/Staffing:

  • 1 partner, 1 associate, 1 paralegal.
    • Any deviation requires preapproval from Claims Professional

Legal Research:

  • Cannot charge for counsel reviewing rules of civil procedure, research on topics that are typical and routine in nature, or considered general knowledge issues for Defense Counsel possessing the specialty for which they have been retained.
  • Research over 3 hours needs written approval, and we need to provide copy of all research memoranda relating to the project.
    • Cannot bill any charges for cost of electronic legal research services used by our office (i.e. LexisNexis or Westlaw)

Budget:

  • Budget should be submitted to client with our initial evaluation reports. (Budget should be sent to claims professional with cc to LegalOffice@PrismOneSvcs.com).

Billing/Invoicing:

Travel:

  • Local travel (within 25 miles) is not reimbursable.
  • Travel time billed at 50% of approved hourly rate.
  • Travel must be billed separately from other task/activities.
  • Airline must be coach/economy and booked as far in advance as possible.
  • Rental cars:
    • Only when it’s the most economical form of travel or if nature of business activity dictates that a car be used.
    • Standard or lower vehicle classes only.
    • Premium, elite, and luxury vehicles strictly prohibited.
  • Parking receipts MUST be provided in order for reimbursement.
  • Personal vehicles reimbursed by mileage at IRS mileage rate.
  • Approval for hotel stays greater than $215 per night.
  • Alcohol and gratuity are not reimbursable.

Billing Practices:

  • Block billing is not allowed.
  • Cannot charge for more than 1 person doing the same task.
  • Cannot charge for reviewing/revising research/work of another person.
  • Cannot charge for clerical/secretarial work/overhead expenses.

Fourth party vendor invoices over $1,001 should be passed through to the company for direct payment.  Anything less should be paid by us and added to our invoice.
