Coaction (1500)

Coaction (fka ProSight) (1500) Ebilled – Quarterly on open date of matter or when $25,000 threshold met – Legal-X/ SIMS

• The client expects that each case will be assigned to one (1) lead attorney (senior-level attorney) and one (1) supporting attorney (minimum of three (3) years practicing attorney)
  • Supporting attorney will bill at the approved associate rate, regardless of title
• Rates are in place for the life of the case regardless of an attorney or title change
• All approvals must be in writing and attached to the applicable invoice
  • Approval needs to be received for:
    • Research over three (3) hours
    • Billing in excess of ten (10) hours per day, by a single timekeeper
    • All motion practices
    • Multiple attorney attendance
    • Travel (non-local)
    • Mediation & selection of mediators
    • Videotaping of deposition other than the plaintiff
    • All experts and IMEs per case
      • The claim professional has the authority to approve up to two (2) Experts per assignment
    • Surveillance, independent adjuster or private investigator
    • Priority/overnight mail or express courier services over $50
• Final invoices to be submitted immediately (and no more than sixty days (60) upon conclusion of the work
• Expenses over $1,000 can be submitted immediately
• When invoices on a case exceed $25,000 (and increments thereof), the client expects counsel to submit an updated status report for future costs and strategy to resolve the case.
• Invoices will be automatically reduced if submitted late
  • 151-180 days reduced by 25%
  • 181-270 days reduced by 40%
  • 271-365 days reduced by 65%
  • More than 365 days reduced by 80%
• Local travel is not reimbursable (includes time, mileage reimbursement, toll expenses, and parking). Local travel is defined as less than 50 miles one-way.
• Attorney travel time will be paid at half (½) the attorney’s hourly rate. Travel time must be billed as a separate line item entry, reflect the full travel hours incurred, and should be submitted at the attorney’s full rate. The reduction will be calculated by Coaction.
• The client will reimburse the following reasonable expenses for long-distance travel (greater than 50 miles one-way from the assigned attorney’s office):
  • Airfare/Train - coach class only
  • Hotel - moderately priced
  • Standard car rentals and ride share services
  • Meals - maximum daily rate of $75
  • Parking
• Appeals will be accepted for review within thirty (30) calendar days
• Magna Legal Services is Coaction’s exclusive vendor
  • All court reporting activity and record retrieval requests must be assigned to Magna Legal Services
